On 1 June 2015, the Quality Management Institute (IPQ) held a Workshop for Innovative and Creative Circles (ICC) Facilitators at EDC, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

The workshop was attended by 40 UUM staff from various Centres of Responsibility (PTJ). The 1-day workshop was led by Dr. Suriyati Zainal Abidin, Senior Consultant from Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), Northern Region.

The purpose of this workshop was to expose participants especially the facilitators and leaders of the groups in respect of basic concepts, operations, ICC philosophy and some of the rudimentary quality tools in the conduct of the ICC.

Director of IPQ, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah during his welcoming speech, said the ICC this year is more closely related to the efforts to increase the efficiency of the operations of Centres of Responsibility.

He further pointed out that UUM needs to make innovation and creativity as a culture of its community because these two factors capable of becoming the main contributor to the continuity of the implementation of the Second Phase of UUM Strategic Plan (2016-2020) agenda.
