UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dato' Wira Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak chaired a meeting on the Presentation of the Achievements of the First 6 Months of the Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Strategic Plan 2015 at the Senate Conference Room, Chancellery, yesterday.
During his opening speech, the Vice-Chancellor stressed on the need to emphasize several items found in the UUM Strategic Plan Phase 2 in order to realise UUM’s agenda of becoming the Eminent Management University.
Among those mentioned were accreditation, ISO 26000 certification - Social Responsibility, OHSAS 18001 certification - Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental, Radiation, and Hygiene Management, and ISO 14001 - Environmental Management Systems.
He also called on the various schools to increase the recruitment of international staff as well as international students to enrol into the university as internationalization is an important agenda in the UUM Strategic Plan aside from intensifying collaboration with international universities.
The meeting which was organised by the UUM Institute of Quality Management (IPQ) was attended by the Deans of the various schools and Heads of Centres of Authority.
Also present were UUM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Assoc. Prof. Dr Abdul Malek Hj Abdul Karim, the members of the University Management Committee and university officials.
