MS ISO 9001: 2008 AUDIT, NEWLY APPOINTED AUDITORS READY TO SERVE FOR UUM EXCELLENCE

On 28th March 2016 (Monday), the Institute of Quality Management (IPQ) organizes Internal Quality Audit (AKD) Preparation Workshop for the newly appointed auditors at Seminar all B, Convention Centre, UUM. A number of 42 new auditors consists of Assistant Registrars from various Centre of Authorities and lecturers from various Schools attended the workshop.

The workshop aims to provide extensive exposure to the newly appointed auditors with regards to UUM Quality Management System and UUM AKD.  The participants was exposed to the fundamental of audit and approaches for audit implementation based on MS ISO 9001:2008.

The one-day workshop was conducted by Dr. Noor Hasmini Hj. Abd Ghani, Deputy Director of Quality Excellence System Division, IPQ. In the opening speech, Dr Hasmini stated, AKD MS ISO 9001: 2008 is essential as it is considered as management review activities to ensure continuous excellence in service delivery to UUM client and stakeholders. In addition, this workshop is a necessity to prepare the newly appointed auditors before the transition to ISO 9001: 2015 which will be fully implemented in 2018.

The exposure to the important elements in the workshop includes the explanation of the procedures and execution of auditing, explanation on the aims of MS ISO 9001: 2008 certification, Quality Management System Model, UUM MS ISO 9001:2008 registration scopes and the required clauses during auditing process.

IPQ hopes this workshop will be able to provide new input to the participants in carrying out their responsibilities as the university auditors effectively.
