The 5S Training Committee of Institute of Quality Management (IPQ) held a briefing on fire safety at the Meeting Room Executive I, IPQ on October 24, 2016 (Monday).
The briefing was attended by all IPQ staff consisting of the management and the executive staff. The main purpose of this briefing was to create awareness about the dangers of fire, and provide exposure and knowledge to the staff of the importance of fire safety in an effort to reduce the incidence of fires in Malaysia.
IPQ Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah in his welcoming speech said, the staff of IPQ need to be given more exposure and knowledge of how to manage fire safety. This is because fires can happen not only in the office but also at home and anywhere.
The briefing was held for about 1 hour and was presented by Mr. William, a fire safety consultant of Fire Prevention Centre Malaysia. During the briefing Mr. William shared the ways of using fire equipment and the importance of keeping Fire Safety Equipment at home, in the vehicle and also in the office.
It is hoped that this briefing can provide awareness and guidance to the staff of IPQ on the importance of fire safety in the office, at home and in the vehicle.
