UNIVERSITY QUALITY COUNCIL MEETING 2016: IPQ CONTINUES ITS EFFORTS IN IMPROVING THE QUALITIES OF THE UNIVERSITY’S AGENDA

On 2 November 2016 (Wednesday), the Institute of Quality Management (IPQ) has successfully organised the University Quality Council meeting of 2016. The meeting was chaired by the Honorable Prof. Dato 'Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak. This meeting is an annual event of the university to discuss matters related to the Quality Management System and the improvement of UUM Quality Management System. This meeting was a platform to ensure that UUM Quality Management System meets the requirements of the Quality Management Systems (QMS) - Requirements ISO 9001: 2008.

In his speech, Prof. Dato 'Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak reminded everyone to be prepared for the SIRIM re-certification audit on 28-30 November 2016. The Vice Chancellor also urged all Centres of Responsibility to participate in UUM Open KIK Convention which will be held in February 2017.

The Vice Chancellor also called on all parties to ensure that the office environment is at the 5S/QE level best. This recommendation is in line with UUM’s aspiration in making the university clean, cheerful and conducive to all campus community. In addition, all relevant parties should cooperate as much as possible with OYAGSB in order to obtain the TRIPLE ISO certification in April, 2017.

The Director of IPQ, Assoc. Prof. Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah, in his presentation, has outlined the planning for some of UUM’s quality agenda namely the e-ISO development project, the transition of MS ISO 9001: 2008 to ISO 9001: 2015, Triple ISO, 5S MPC for all UUM’s PTJs/ PP and KIK in order to inculcate innovation and creativity in UUM.
