6 November 2016 (Sunday), The Institute of Quality Management (IPQ) UUM has received a benchmarking visit for the 5S/QE from the Co-Curriculum and Student Development Centre of UPM. The visit was headed by the Deputy Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Salwa Abd Ghani, and 11 staff of the centre. The delegation was accompanied by five staff members from the Department of Student Affairs (HEP) UUM. The visit aims to gain experience and sharing of information on the implementation of the Quality Environment (5S / QE) in IPQ.

In her welcoming speech, the Deputy Director of Corporate Planning IPQ, Dr. Mazni Omar, said that IPQ has become a reference point for UUM’s 5S agenda of 5S. On top of that, IPQ has also published the 5S Quality Environment Practice / QE Manual which was being promoted during the visit to jointly share IPQ’s success in the implementation of this agenda. The manual is sold for RM95.00 a copy and was launched on October 4, 2016 during the SIQIC 3 event.

The event was also filled with discussions of IPQ’s success in obtaining the  National level certification of MPC 5S certification in 2015 followed by a brief presentation of activities related to 5S by the Head of the Promotion Committee, Ms Siti Khairunnisa Mohd Nor.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Salwa Abd Ghani while delivering her speech thank  IPQ for the sharing of knowledge and experiences sessions with them and god willing will put them into practice when they return to UPM later. The ceremony ended with a tour around the two divisions of IPQ, which are the Administration and Competitiveness Division (BPDS) and the Quality Excellence System Division (BSKK).
