The ISO Awareness Workshop 9001:2015 was organised by IPQ on December 13, 2016 (Tuesday) at UUM Convention Center, Seminar Hall A. A total of 70 internal quality auditors consisting of university administration and academic auditors attended the workshop.

The one-day workshop aims to provide understanding, knowledge and exposure to UUM’s Internal Quality auditors, in the implementation of the transition process from ISO 9001: 2008 to ISO 9001: 2015. The guest speaker for the workshop was Mrs. Armpon A / P I Weng who is a Principal Consultant from Global Jayamaju Sdn. Bhd. She has comprehensive experience of over 20 years as ISO consultant including the ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and the ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System).

This workshop has not only exposed the participants to the dissimilarity between clause ISO 9001: 2008 and ISO 9001: 2015 but  also introduced them to the  high level structure contain in MS ISO 9001: 2015 quality management principles, and how to prepare the work process taking into account the elements of risk management.

In his speech, the IPQ Director, Associate Professor Dr. Haim Hilman stressed that the ISO is a key surge for UUM Strategic Plan 2016-2020 and also shared the outstanding success of UUM, where the university is now ranked 201-250 in the Times Higher Education - THE BRICS & Emerging Economies University Ranking. To make UUM remain competitive, the cooperation of all parties is necessary, and he also stressed that for 2017, the spirit of ‘The New You’ should be raised. The spirit refers to the need for UUM staff to work with more vigor, united, conscientious in carrying out their duties and at the same time contributes new ideas so that each PTJ is able to increase its performances to a higher level. For that, commitments to the work in an orderly system like the ISO are very important for an organization, he said.
