28 May - To ensure that the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) successfully attains the Triple ISO Certification by the year 2020, a briefing on the current status of OYAGSB’s preparations with regard to attaining MS ISO9001:2015, MS ISO14001:2015, and SR10:2015 certifications was held at the Senate Meeting Room yesterday.
The briefing was attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Prof. Dr. Hassan Ali, who represented the Vice-Chancellor, the Director of the IPQ, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faudziah Zainal Abidin, and Deans and Heads of Departments.
The briefing on MS ISO9001:2015 (Quality Management System) and MS ISO14001:2015 (Environmental Management System) was delivered by a consultant, Armpon a/p I Weng, while that on SR10:2015 (Social Responsibility Management System) was presented by another consultant, Lim Kim Yook.
According to Ms. Armpon, the third phase of the implementation of ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 was currently in progress while the fourth phase, which was the first stage in the auditing process, had already been completed. The second stage of the auditing process, she said, was expected to be completed sometime this coming July.
She also raised a number of pressing concerns faced by OYAGSB such as the absence of a special unit to manage the implementation of the Triple ISO, the overlapping of responsibilities between departments, and the organizational structure at OYAGSB pertaining to environmental management.
Meanwhile, Lim Kim Yook elaborated on several of the principles highlighted in social responsibility SR10: 2015 such as accountability, transparency, respect for the rule of law, and respect for human rights, apart from the finer points of GC-Mark Labels for Social Responsibility.
Site visits for SR10: 2015 will be held at OYAGSB starting today until 30 May. The second stage of auditing for ISO14001: 2015 will be held before the Eidul Fitri celebrations while the second stage of auditing for ISO9001: 2015 is expected to begin after Eidul Fitri.
