The Institute of Quality Management (IPQ) once again organised the Academic Internal Quality Auditors Strengthening Workshop (Series 2) to strengthen the Internal Quality Audit process in line with the ISO 9001: 2015 transition process. The workshop was held from 29 till 30 May 2017 at the Executive Meeting Room, IPQ. The workshop also provided the auditors an exposition of the addition of risk management aspects in the transition process for the implementation of the ISO 9001: 2008 to ISO 9001: 2015.

The first day of the workshop was conducted by a consultant appointed by UUM, Mrs. Armpon a / p I Weng, Principal Consultant from Global Jayamaju Sdn. Bhd. The auditors were informed of the requirements of ISO 9001: 2015 which should be emphasised during the audit process. The second day continued with a lecture by Prof. Dr. Rushami Zien Yusoff who has extensive experience in quality management from the School of Business Management. In addition, Prof. Dr. Rushami is also the Deputy Chairman of the International ISO Technical Committee. He thoroughly touched on the sustainability of the University Quality Management System which needs to be tailored to the transition process of ISO 9001: 2008 to ISO 9001: 2015 so that it can become a Quality Management System that can accommodate other accreditation systems, and in line with the University's Quality Policy and Objectives. Besides the lecture, bilateral discussions with auditors were also held to find the best way to implement the audit process more effectively.

IPQ hopes that the exposures and trainings given to the auditors have inspired them greatly to implement the internal audit process which will take place soon. Finally, IPQ extends its sincere gratitude to all auditors for their cooperation and commitment during the workshop.
