A total of 15 delegates from the Academic Planning, Quality & Development Centre (PPPKA) of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) visited the Institute of Quality Management (IPQ) on 26 July 2017. The working visit was led by PPPKA Director, Prof. Dr. Mohd Lazim Abdullah, aimed to gain experience and information sharing on the implementation of Academic Quality Assurance in UUM and also the process of obtaining self-accreditation status.

In her welcoming speech, the Director of IPQ, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faudziah Zainal Abidin described the scopes and the responsibilities of IPQ in UUM's transformation agenda, particularly in the academic quality assurance and followed by a briefing on the self-accreditation status by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Salniza Md. Salleh, the Manager of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit, from the Academic Affairs Department (JHEA).

"We would like to thank IPQ for sharing their knowledge and experience with us today. We have gained many inputs that we can put into practice when we get back to UMT later “said the Director of PPPKA when delivering his closing address.

Also present at the briefing was the Deputy Director of IPQ, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norhani Aripin, IPQ Global Competitiveness Manager, Prof. Dr. K. Kuperan K.V.S.N Viswanathan, IPQ Academic Quality Assurance Manager, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rozita Arshad, and officials of IPQ. The briefing sessions ended with the exchange of souvenirs between the Director of IPQ and the Director of PPPKA UMT and a visit to the Welcome Center.
